The Not-So-Perfect Match is a whimsical, modern and inclusive reimagining of the classic fairy tale The Princess and the Pea. The story features a quirky, fresh Prince, a boho Princess and a charmingly opinionated and personified Pea. This story playfully questions what makes a “perfect” match and reminds readers that love and identity don’t always follow the rules of a fairytale.

This editorial illustration was created in response to a fictional brief set by AQUILA magazine in collaboration with Inkygoodness, as part of a creative challenge. The task was to design a vibrant, full-colour coral reef spread for AQUILA’s extended Summer issue themed around The Science of Coral and global ocean adventures. Inspired by the dazzling biodiversity of the coral reefs, I aimed to create an immersive scene full of detail, movement, and hidden elements to spark curiosity and encourage young readers to explore.
